The client here wanted a new kitchen, dining, garden room attached to the end of the rear annex; creating an outside area courtyard / light well between the old and the new. A glazed see-through addition was devised; linking the new courtyard to the new space and rear garden beyond.

A pitched roof form succeeds in lessening over shadow to the west facing rear garden. South facing roof lights catch the sun as it moves around the house during the day.

High spec glazing, above regulation insulation and underfloor heating ensure the addition retains heat all year round.
