Modern interventions transformed this Edwardian house in Clontarf.

To avoid the existing front rooms becoming unused; a small angled addition was devised. This new space creates distinct kitchen, dining zones while also hiding a long adjoining extension. The wedge form lessens overall impact and creates a level patio directly off the kitchen while maintaining garden space. Crittal doors are used at the entry to the main space, bringing light into the hall and linking the garden beyond.

A newly orientated feature stair goes from the ground floor to the attic. A generous window stretching landing to landing brings light into the usually dark mid plan.

First floor a dressing room is connected to the new master en suite via a pocket sliding door, and a generous family bathroom has been created.

Kind Words from Clients

From start to finish, Carol totally understood our brief and worked collaboratively throughout the process. We wanted to respect the original period and feeling of our Edwardian House, while making it a practical and beautiful space for our family. She came up with many new ideas we would never have thought of and guided us through every element of the process; offering us clear guidance on our ideas here. She is a visionary architect with taste, whilst being very down-to-earth and easy to work with.
